Product Overview & Area of Application
The Schönberg EPS 300 is an energy buffer storage tank without an integrated heat exchanger for water-based heating systems. With an actual net capacity of 319 liters, it is suitable as a heating water buffer tank for hydraulic integration into suitable system concepts.
The tank is used in heating systems, solid fuel systems, solar systems, and in system environments with combined heat and power plants. It serves as intermediate storage for heating energy and supports a well-ordered hydraulic separation between heat generation and heat distribution.
Technology & Equipment
The EPS 300 is designed as a buffer tank without a heat exchanger. The tank body is made of quality steel S235JRG2, raw on the inside and primed on the outside. It is installed standing on a base ring.
For system integration, 8 charging and discharging connections with 1 1/2 inch female thread, 4 sensor and controller connections with 1/2 inch female thread, one vent connection with 1 1/4 inch female thread, and 2 connections for electric heating cartridges with 1 1/2 inch female thread are available.
Everyday Benefits
A buffer tank supports the time-shifted use of generated heat and can hydraulically stabilize the operation of a heating system. Especially in systems with solid fuel boilers, solar thermal systems, or multiple heat sources, the tank helps to provide generated energy in a controlled manner within the heating system.
With a net capacity of 319 liters, the EPS 300 offers more storage volume than smaller versions of the series and, with a diameter of 600 mm without insulation, remains easy to plan. The tilting dimension of 1,300 mm without insulation is an important planning value for transport, installation, and setup.
System Integration & Compatibility
The EPS 300 can be integrated into suitable heating, solid fuel, and solar systems. Use in the vicinity of combined heat and power plants is also possible, provided the system concept is designed accordingly.
The storage tank is intended for heating water and is not designed as a drinking water storage tank. The specific hydraulic integration, the design of the safety valve, expansion vessel, venting, and control, as well as the selection of suitable components, are carried out as part of the professional planning.

Installation
The storage tank is set up standing on a load-bearing, level and frost-free surface. When positioning it, take into account the tilting dimension without insulation, the connection positions, sufficient installation clearances and subsequent accessibility for inspection and maintenance.
The hydraulic connections are connected according to the system design. Electric heating cartridges may only be installed in the designated connection sockets. After installation, all threaded connections must be checked for leaks.
Notes
The type designation EPS 300 does not correspond to the exact storage volume. The actual net volume is 319 liters. Dimensions and connection values must be checked against the specific model before ordering, installation and positioning.
The storage tank may only be operated within the permitted operating limits. Before working on the storage tank, the system must be depressurized, cooled down and secured against unintentional refilling.
